HelloBody is proud to participate in World Cleanup Day (WCD). This year’s event was held on Saturday, September 19, 2020. Our teams worked together to help pick up waste in their communities.
What is World Cleanup Day?
WCD is a civic movement committed to cleaning up litter from streets, parks, forests, beaches & rivers. It is held yearly on the third Saturday in September. WCD is considered the “largest one-day peacetime civic action against waste aiming to raise awareness of the global mismanaged waste crisis and its impact on the environment.” Read more about the program here.
HelloBody and Our Mission:
At HelloBody, we often speak about our commitment to natural skincare that is good for both humans and the planet.
This said, we believe that actions speak louder than words. Here are some things we’ve done:
- All our shipment boxes and filling material are made out of 100% recycled material. In addition, the shipment boxes are printed with water-soluble colors to ensure biodegradability.
- Step by step, we’re changing our product packaging. We use glass whenever possible and launch tubes and bottles with up to 62% PCR (post-consumer-recycled) material.
- Last year, we cooperated with 1 % for the planet. As part of the initiative, we donated 60.000€ to support their efforts.
HelloBody and World Cleanup Day 2020:
This year, the HelloBody team came together for the cause. In Los Angeles, our team went to Venice Beach to help pick up the beach and surrounding area. Back in Berlin, our team met at Hasenheide Park for their cleanup.
In a year that has left many of us feeling isolated, we’re glad to have had an opportunity to safely come together and make a positive impact.
World Cleanup Day is a celebration of the planet. We encourage every one of our beauties to continue the initiative wherever they may be.
